Amata celebrated the signing of the concession agreement between AMATA and the Lao PDR in 2022 to commence the development of AMATA Smart and Eco City Namor in the province of Oudomxay, covering an area of 3,150 hectares, and AMATA Smart and Eco City Natuey in the province of Luang Namtha covering an area of 410 hectares. It is a new industrial city adjacent to the Laos-China railway station in the north and is developed to become exemplary models of modern industrial parks with smart and eco features. this is the targeted to attract investors from around the world.
Last year, the Laos government has approved the construction of an expressway running between Bokeo province and Boten at Luang Namtha province, which will link China and Thailand through Laos. In addition, surveys of the next three sections of the Laos-China Expressway, which is being built between Vientiane and Boten have been completed. The expressway will run for a distance of 440 kilometres and will be built in four sections. The first section between capital Vientiane and Vangvieng district was been opened in December 2021.
