Mr. Vikrom Kromadit was born on March 17, 1953, in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is the founder and Chairman of Amata Corporation PCL, established in 1975, which is one of Thailand’s leading industrial estate developers.
As the founder and chairman of the Amata Foundation, which he established in 1996, Mr. Vikrom personally funds this non-profit organization under the philosophy of “Contributing to Society and the World,” with the operating slogan “Giving Without Expecting a Return.” He has donated his dividends from business to the foundation, focusing on areas such as natural conservation, environmental issues, education for youth, and support for the local art and literature scene—all causes close to his heart. Additionally, as a philosopher, Mr. Vikrom dedicates his time to sharing his knowledge and experiences, which he has compiled into books. Currently, he has published 25 books, translated into eight languages, with over 10 million copies sold. He also hosts broadcast programs on both radio and television.
AMATA is a leading developer and operator of industrial cities in this region. Initially established as a small trading business in 1975, the company has evolved over more than three decades into an industrial giant, fired by the vision of Thai entrepreneur Vikrom Kromadit.
Hosting companies from 28 countries that employ over 350,000 people in more than 1,500 factories and commercial outlets, AMATA has become the entry point of choice for foreign multinationals seeking to expand production into Southeast Asia.
Since opening our first industrial park on a six-hectare pocket of land in 1989 in Chonburi, our eco-industrial park developments in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos now covering more than 150 square kilometers and offer unique entry points to a vast consumer market.
The company has established its own policies to achieve sustainability. AMATA Group supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Utilizing innovation and technology, we are evolving towards a leading Smart City that balances business, social and environmental factors, responding to evident global challenges and emerging risks.
Amata Castle is a magnificent sandstone architectural landmark, created by Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, the founder of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited and the Amata Foundation.
Situated at the heart of a golf course and surrounded by the country’s largest industrial city, Amata City Industrial Estate, Chonburi, Thailand. More than just a stunning and unique piece of architecture, it aspires to be a future center for fostering creativity and preserving Asian culture.
The primary purpose of Amata Castle is to serve as a venue for showcasing the works of artists from across Asia, aiming to support the exhibition of artworks and preserve local cultural heritage. Additionally, it functions as a space for hosting events, conferences, and social activities for partners, all on a non-profit basis.
The design of Amata Castle was inspired by Mr. Vikrom’s dream, drawing influence from the art of the ancient Suvarnabhumi civilization (*) and the natural beauty of seashells, symbolizing boundless creative energy. The castle’s exterior features a stone structure nestled amidst mountains, surrounded by lush greenery and water sources.
Currently, Amata Castle is not open to the public for general viewing, but we are delighted to welcome visitors for the company’s 50th-anniversary celebration, offering a rare opportunity to experience the beauty of this architectural masterpiece up close.
