Amata in Vietnam: Rice and Goods to People Suffering from Current Crisis
Surakij Kiatthanakorn, General Director of Amata City Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company together with the management and staff of Amata City Bien Hoa Industrial Estate, Vietnam, organized a project to help support people in Dong Nai and Quang Ninh provinces affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to alleviate their suffering. A total of 3,600 sets of rice and dry food were prepared for distribution. He also called for donations from employees, enterprises and sponsors to join the programs to help those in difficulties during this pandemic.
In addition, Amata, in cooperation with former students of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) installed an ATM rice bank machine at Amata Park, Amata City Bien Hoa. The ATM rice machine will dispense 2kg of rice per person, operating 4 hours a day and 6 days a week. Companies with manufacturing facilities at the Amata estate supported therefore 6.3 tons of rice, which is meant to be given to people suffering economically due to the Covid-19 crisis.
