650,000 Fish and Prawns Released at Dok Krai Reservoir

On July 18, 2024, 420 volunteers from factories at AMATA City Rayong participated in a sustainable water conservation project at Dok Krai Reservoir, releasing 400,000 fish and 250,000 freshwater prawns. They also built fish homes ("Sung") using fishing nets to provide shelter, enhance species biodiversity, and increase survival rates of the released species. This popular community activity fosters collaboration among government, community, and private sectors.

Although AMATA City Rayong is outside the 5-kilometer radius from Dok Krai Reservoir, which is crucial for local fishing and aquatic life, the company addresses potential water quality impacts through the "Joint Development toward Sustainable Watershed" project. This project focuses on water conservation and biodiversity.

For seven years, AMATA City Rayong has partnered with the Dok Krai Reservoir Fishery Management Group to educate youth and promote water conservation. The Company’s efforts in biodiversity conservation across its industrial parks align with the IUCN’s Biodiversity Mitigation Hierarchy, emphasizing Avoidance, Minimization, Rehabilitation/Restoration, and Compensation/Offset.
