BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand Ground Breaks High-Voltage Battery Production Facility at AMATA City Rayong Industrial Estate

Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Executive Advisor to the Chief Investment Officer along with Mr. Satha Vanalabh-patana, Acting Chief Strategy Officer and Assistant to CEO of AMATA Corporation PCL. and Acting Managing Director of AMATA City Rayong Company Limited extended their heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Erik Ruge, Managing Director of BMW Group Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., during the groundbreaking ceremony for the first high-voltage vehicle battery production facility in ASEAN.

Situated in AMATA City Rayong Industrial Estate, the facility covers over 4,000 square meters, signifying a significant expansion for BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand. With an investment exceeding 1,600 million Baht (approximately 42 million euros), BMW Group aims to advance its operations toward high-voltage battery production. This move sets the stage for the company's first BMW battery-electric vehicle (BEV) model to be assembled at Plant Rayong in the second half of 2025.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key figures including Dr. Milan Nedeljković, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Production; Dr. Ernst Reichel, the Ambassador of Germany to Thailand; Mr. Danainat Chockamnuay, Advisor to the Minister of Industry; Mr. Kamthorn Wehan, Deputy Governor of Rayong Province and Mr. Wirat Tatsaringkansakul, Deputy Secretary General of Thailand Board of Investment.
