Delegation Led by the Swiss Ambassador Visits AMATA City Bien Hoa Industrial Park

The management of AMATA City Bien Hoa Industrial Park in Dong Nai province, South Vietnam, had the privilege and deep honor to welcome HE Mr. Thomas Gass, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam and Mr. Werner Bardill, Consul General, Consulate General of Switzerland in Ho Chi Minh City alongside representatives of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO and the project management team for the 'ECO Industrial Park' program. 

The delegation was briefed by AMATA's team, visited the wastewater treatment facility and Saitex International Dong Nai Company Limited with its garment plant at AMATA City Bien Hoa. SAITEX, which specializes in premium denim and over-dyed products, is a leader in sustainable manufacturing practices and the first factory in Asia and the only large-scale manufacturer of denim with B Corporation™ Certification.

Switzerland is supporting the development of Eco-industrial parks through the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program (GEIPP) to convert industrial parks in several cities into Eco-industrial parks. AMATA City Bien Hoa Industrial Park is part of the Eco-Industrial Park project, which is funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) during 2020 - 2023.

Three industrial parks, including AMATA, were therefore selected as a model to develop the eco-industrial park model all over the country.
