How Amata’s 100 Million CC Campaign and Collective Spirit Shape the Future of Blood Donation
On 14/06/2026, people across the globe mark World Blood Donor Day under the World Health Organization’s theme: “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives.” In Thailand, blood donation is a powerful demonstration of compassion and shared responsibility. The Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS) leads these efforts, ensuring that blood is available for patients in need throughout the country.
Despite ongoing campaigns, Thailand faces persistent blood shortages, especially during emergencies and seasonal demand spikes. TRCS and its 12 regional centres must secure more than 200,000 units monthly, maintaining at least 3,000 units in reserve daily. Many donors give only once a year, making regular, voluntary donations crucial to maintain a stable supply.
Currently, Thailand is experiencing significant gaps in its blood supply. The largest shortfall is for Group O, which is over 500 units below the required amount. Group A is also critically low, with less than 35% of its needs met. Group B, while closer to meeting demand, still has hundreds of units outstanding, and demand for AB remains challenging. The situation is even more acute for Rh-negative blood, particularly O Rh-, which remains the rarest and most urgently needed with less than half of required units available.
The message is clear: the percentage of blood supply fulfillment varies sharply by group, with some groups, such as A and O, missing nearly half or more of their needed stock. This ongoing shortfall highlights the urgent need for continuous and diverse donations to meet real-time patient needs.

The “100 Million CC of AMATA Blood” campaign brings together over 300,000 employees from factory communities, and close to 1 million residents within a radius of km from the industrial city projects. Since its launch, the campaign has collected over 34.45 million cc of blood, supporting more than 222,500 patients. In 2025, donors gave 3.68 million cc; for World Blood Donor Day 2026, 131 donors from 27 companies contributed 48,000 cc—boosting national reserves and demonstrating the collective spirit of the Amata community.

The campaign coincides with the TRCS’s nationwide drive from 8–14 June 2026, with donation points across Bangkok, regional centres, malls, workplaces, and mobile drives. Donors received commemorative T-shirts in gratitude. Blood is irreplaceable and vital for surgeries, trauma care, childbirth, cancer, and chronic disease treatment. Every donation helps strengthen Thailand’s ability to respond in times of need.
The official TRCS blood donation center is located in Amata City Chonburi industrial estate, and is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (closed on public holidays). For more information, please call 038-278-905 ext. 111
Amata’s campaign stabilises blood supplies, especially during shortages in areas like Nakhon Ratchasima and Pattaya. Surgeries may require several units per patient, and chronic conditions need a steady supply. Every donor, whether giving once or regularly, contributes to a movement that saves lives and brings hope to families. The ongoing “Give Blood Now” outreach, along with partnerships with local authorities and businesses, enables rapid response whenever demand rises.
World Blood Donor Day 2026 highlights the strength found in unity and action. At Amata, the drive for entrepreneurship is channelled into compassion and positive change. Every donor, partner, and volunteer plays a crucial role in building a healthier, more resilient Thailand. The invitation remains open—every drop donated makes a difference.
