Yangon AMATA Smart & Eco City Supports Aid Efforts after Cyclone Mocha
On 14 May 2023, cyclone "Mocha" caused landfall on the Bay of Bengal affecting Myanmar and parts of Bangladesh after intensifying into the equivalent of a category-five storm, pounded through the region at around 209 km/h. It was one the strongest storms to ever hit Myanmar. The Burmese military declared the whole of Rakhine as a natural disaster area. Since, humanitarian aid has reached the people and clean-up operations are underway for the millions of people affected by the storm.
Yangon AMATA Smart & Eco City Limited cooperated with the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) and donated zinc-roofing sheets worth around USD5,000 as provisions for houses damaged by the cyclone.
