LITE-ON Technology, a global leader in opto-electronics component manufacturing, officially broke ground on the first phase of its USD 690 million electronics plant at Amata City Ha Long, covering an area of 30 hectares. The site, also known as Sông Khoai Industrial Park, is located in Quang Yen township, Quang Ninh Province. The event was attended by provincial leaders, led by Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh People's Committee, as well as various businesses within the industrial park. Representatives from Amata, including H.E. Sadoshima Shiro, Executive Advisor of AMATA Corporation PCL and former Ambassador of Japan to Thailand; Mr. Aukkares Choochouy, Director of Amata VN PCL; and Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan, General Director of Amata City Ha Long, were present to celebrate this milestone.

The new factory will focus on producing high-end advanced products, such as electronic computer components, cameras, wireless network devices, power converters, electric vehicle chargers, car lights, plastic products, and many other electronic devices. The plant is designed to serve as a model for AI application in production, showcasing LITE-ON’s cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities.

The factory’s commitment to sustainability is evident, as LITE-ON is a leader in pursuing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. Environmental protection will remain a central focus of all operations, with the plant aiming for LEED certification and adherence to energy-saving standards and carbon emission reduction targets.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, participants expressed their confidence in the success of the project and the growing role of Amata City Ha Long in high-tech manufacturing. This milestone marks an exciting chapter for LITE-ON as it strengthens its presence in the region.

Once fully operational, the factory is expected to produce nearly 124 million units annually, significantly boosting industrial output, export value, and employment opportunities in Quảng Ninh. The first phase of production is slated to begin in November 2025, setting the stage for further expansion and technological advancements in the years ahead.
